Your Hardwood Floors Can Be More Beautiful With A Floor Buffer
The first thing you will need to do before cleaning is to figure out what kind of floor you have. In case you are a proud owner of a sealed floor, then it is most likely a surface sealed floor that will not take much of your time. You probably have a penetrating seal treated floor if you have older floor installed. You will need to apply more oils and wax to maintain this type of floor.
For cleaning hardwood floors, in the case of a surface sealed floor, you merely need to mop using a product recommended by your flooring manufacturer. To be safe, use only products that do not have any oil included. Use some soap and a damp mop on this type of floor and you will be safe. Since wood floors can be damaged with sitting water, you have to dry the surface completely when you finish your task.
Mopping the floor with water-based products will not be possible if you have penetrating seal treated floor. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean your floors instead. Old wax will have to be stripped and new coating will be added, so your floor can have deeper cleaning. You are free to do this task two times a year.
Use a stripper, and follow the manufacturer's directions. For your hardwood floors to dry properly you need to have good ventilation. Then purchase a product for waxing your floor that is approved by your floor manufacturer. Read the instructions so you can properly apply the number of coats you wish for.
The final – and most important – step is applying a floor scrubber. Wax has to seal the floor properly and give it a beautiful shine, so you will have to use this process for sure. Most people opt to rent or buy a hardwood floor buffer machine, since it makes the job much easier. It's good to know that a new wood floor buffer will simply pay for itself after you use it 3 to 4 times in your home.
