I am someone who fought acne a few years ago.

Combating acne is one of the most frustrating battles to go through. Although almost everyone gets pimples during their lives, this isn't enough to just "accept" it and be comfortable with living with acne.

In my life, I have had awful acne. I was a patient who was diagnosed as having "severe" acne. I experience how crushing acne is to your self-esteem. There were many days that I didn't want to leave the house because I was so embarrassed by the way my skin looked.

I saw that people were taking a look at me and judging the way my skin had acne. Of course, nobody came right out and said it, but there was no question that people were looking.

As you can imagine, I never even thought about getting a girlfriend. Yeah, I had crushes on girls, but I had absolutely no confidence in myself and thought I was too ugly to be dating.

Acne affected so many aspects of my life. It wasn't just my skin that was struggling – I was in bad shape as a whole. My lack of self-confidence affected my friendships, my lovelife and the way I felt about myself.

Thankfully, I found an acne treatment that worked for me. I'm able to live acne free nowadays. I tried a tons of different acne treatment products before I found something that worked. My main advice is to make sure you use a treatment that treats all of the causes of acne. Without this, you won't see the results you want.

A big piece of advice – don't use prescription drugs. Not only are they ineffective in most cases, but many of them have bad side effects.

The key is not to get discouraged and to take action! Read some acne treatment reviews, find the best acne treatment for you, and keep with it.
